ClaSs2: Ideas from Mr.Anant (12 Jun’09)

Mr.Anant Chinabutr came to our class. He wrote and translated many books concerning with creativity so he gave us a lot of valuable concepts.

“Some ideas are simple but not easy”
We can always come up with new ideas but most of them are forgotten as soon as we just think that it’s impossible. Thomas Edison’s ideas are also simple but they took him a lot of time and attempts to make them practical! Edison said that one failure meant one step closer to the success because we had got rid of a way that wasn’t the way to success. So, novel ideas and unlimited attempts yield an achievement.

“5Ds to success”
Dare 2 Dream
Decide 2 Do
Determine 2B Done
Deal w/ Disappointment
Delegate ur Duty (cooperate and distribute the works)

“NLP”
Neuro-linguistic programming, a new word we’ve learned from this class. It is a human automatic behavior which related one’s experience with his own feelings. I may explain it not very well, however, I learned that telling ourselves something we want to be over and over can make we really believe it at last. Everything can be fixed by starting at our thoughts.

“Thoughts grow”
When we start to think about one thing, ideas concerning with it always come along. Like bad thoughts, when we’ve started to think something bad, we’ll keep thinking about it. When we think about someone negatively but we may not act as we think. When the time passes bad ideas continue to get into our mind until they become our behaviors and at last we’ll start to treat that one badly. So, beware our own thoughts!

Mr.Anant gave me a lot more ideas that I can’t write them all so if you are interested in his ideas, log on to his website here for more details.

From the first Innovative Thinking class that we’ve heard about Singapore concerns about innovative thoughts of its students, I’ll show some photos of Singapore buildings. I’ve been to Singapore last summer and I found that though there are a lot of skyscrapers, most of them, like hotels, shopping malls, are extraordinary. I guess perhaps it’s because Singaporean architects’ ideas are not limited by the employers’ budget -“-
